This is because the only thing that generally changes between holster molds for the same model is the length, and since all of our holsters are open-ended, nothing is restricting a longer gun from going into a shorter holster. Most of our holster models will support longer/shorter guns than the length they are cut for unless otherwise stated on the product page. Pictured above: Glock 17 + X300 Sidecar (Top) Glock 19 Sidecar (Middle) Glock 19 + TLR-7 Sidecar (Bottom) Will Your Holsters Work With More Than One Model Of The Same Gun?Īn example of this question would be, "Will my Glock 19 work in a Glock 34 holster and vice versa?" The answer is yes. This will cause the gun to move excessively in the holster, and the gun will not have any retention. If you try and use either our Sidecar or Light Compatible Ragnarok without a light there will be a large amount of empty space in the holster where the light was meant to go. Like the Ragnarok, the Sidecar uses Passive Retention which is standard for most inside-the-waistband holsters. The same is true for our Sidecar holsters each weapon system/light has its own mold. This is why the shape and dimensions of the holster are so important. Unlike Active-Retention style holsters, our Ragnaroks have Passive Retention, which basically uses the material of the holster to hold your weapon. Each holster variation requires different dimensions to properly hold your gun. Since our holsters are molded for each specific weapon system and light, the light must be attached for proper fitment and retention. Can I Use A Light-Compatible Holster Without the Light Attached? It keeps my clients and my family safe on a day-to-day basis and gives my the confidence I need to rock a full-size platform without worrying about printing or standing out in a crowd. Two common questions we get from those new to guns or new to Kydex style holsters are, "Can I use a Light-Compatible holster without the light attached?" and "Will your holsters work with more than one model of the same gun?" In the article below we will go over these questions and hopefully clear up some confusion. If Doc Holliday were alive today, he would run Tier 1. I can draw and re-holster easy as breathing. Sitting in a car is comfortable, and the speed of access even in a seatbelt is perfection. I love how there is enough room created by the wedge system to tuck a small fixed blade into the slack space. It rides so closely that I forget I'm even running a G19 and spare mag. The way the holster hugs the body without pinching every flex point and wedge location is perfect. There are a lot of holsters on the market, but none of them equal Tier 1 in terms of versatility and detail. This is easily the best appendix carry holster made today it is a true gunfighter's rig.įrom the fit of the firearm itself to the clean finish on the edge of the Kydex, every inch is professionally crafted by people who clearly care about how a gun should be carried. However, when you gun is holstered, you can bend over with zero discomfort.Īll in all, super glad with my purchase and will def be coming back for another holster for my other guns I had the optic and light cut variant btw not sure if the designs are the same with a stock option. Only 1 minor Con I can think of: When the holster is empty, the back pack of the holster that touches your body (I’m assuming its a sweat shield or something of the sort) digs into your belly when you bend over with your hips. Spent a lot of time jumping and shooting at the range with this thing (and no belt) and both the holster retention and pistol retention were outstanding! I didn’t have a slim concealed carry belt to use at the time of this review, but the standard clip option worked perfectly without a belt. It is also significantly slimmer (as one would hope with ‘Slim’ being in the model name.) Right out of the box, the ride height was perfect for me. The Axis Slim is extremely comfortable while carrying appendix compared to the T.Rex Sidecar. Coming here after running the Gen 1 T.Red Arms Sidecar for my Gen 3 Glock 19 and I can honestly say I was worried about dropping $150+ on a holster.
